Demonstrating the king’s bravery, Real Madrid affirmed its unique position in the Champion League

Vinicius and his teammates helped Real set a record for winning the 15th C1/Champions League Cup in the final, winning 2-0 against Dortmund.

At Wembley on the evening of June 1, Dortmund started well against Real Madrid. However, the German team missed four opportunities to open the score in the first half. Two of them were a face-off that pushed the ball too long and a diagonal shot that hit goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois by Karim Adeyemi (left).

Niklas Fullkrug (yellow shirt) also had a shot in front of Real’s goal. The ball passed through the hands of goalkeeper Courtois, but found the far post.

Dortmund had to pay the price for weakness in the first half and impatience in the second half. In the 74th minute, after a corner kick from Toni Kroos, defender Dani Carvajal headed in to open the score for Real. Dortmund’s players were busy marking tall players but let Carvajal, a defender who is only 1.73 m tall, escape.

Goalkeeper Kobel and midfielder Mats Hummels rushed after the ball, but could not save the German team in time. From this point on, Dortmund began to lose spirit and collapse.

Kroos marked his last match for Real by scoring a corner kick to create the opening goal. The 34-year-old midfielder will play the rest of Euro 2024 for Germany, then retire.

Nine minutes after the first goal, taking advantage of Ian Maatsen’s erroneous pass, Jude Bellingham assisted Vinicius with a cross-angle shot, sealing a 2-0 victory for Real. The Spanish team once again showed their bravery by playing alertly and taking advantage of opportunities at important moments.

Vinicius scored for the second time in a Champions League final. In 2022, the Brazilian striker scored the decisive goal in the final against Liverpool 1-0.

The match ended with a 2-0 win for Real Madrid. Bellingham walked across the podium to present the Cup to the champion while receiving his medal with his teammates.

The 20-year-old English midfielder was recruited from Dortmund last summer for 112 million USD and immediately became a mainstay of Real. Bellingham played 42 matches in all competitions, scoring 23 and assisting 13 goals. This rookie’s contribution is considered an important factor in helping Real win La Liga, win the Spanish Super Cup, before completing the treble with the Champions League title at Wembley.
